Things to consider while choosing the best B Tech University - Geeta University

With numerous Universaity offering B. Tech courses at one’s backyard, it has become indispensable for parents and pupils to make an informed selection. But what is an informed choice? Is it the first pay check that one is required to arrive at the end of the 4 year course or is it the brand name? Or do we have to get deeper into the whole drill and find out how the students from these University fare in their career 5 to 6 years down the lane?

Here are some important criteria to ponder upon when you choose your Best B Tech University:

Placements
You need to consider two important points when you look at placements - Numbers and the type of companies that recruit the majority of students. First, identify the average percent of placements across different branches by looking at the Mandatory Disclosures (downloadable from the website). If the list of companies and the number of offers are thrown, it is a serious signal. See the percentage of students placed across branches. Since the biggest recruiters are IT companies, and since they recruit from circuit branches (ECE, EEE, IT, CSE) branch-wise placement record is rather indispensable.

Infrastructure
Do not pass by buildings and estate properties. They are the easiest to take advantage of. How good are labs in the field of your selection? Cause they have modern equipment and in decent numbers? How many records per student are there in the library? What e-journals do they subscribe to? How much bandwidth on a per capita basis do they hold? These are hard questions that can get answers from the website entirely.

Faculty
This is impossible to value correctly for any young scholar. But be on the scout for years of experience of the staff. Verify if a sizeable division of the faculty has less than three to five years of experience; they would be rookies with no teaching experience. The more the number of faculty in the time between 10-20 years, the more upright would be the quality. This is merely a ballpark measure so take it as such. Talk with your seniors to examine if the quality of faculty is good. Best B Tech University have always best faculty.

Industry interface
Look for tie-ups with industry, like the Microsoft Research Centre, IBM Research Centre or Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC) core. See if the institute has a tech park.  Find out whether it has received support from outside authorities for research. If a school in your assessment, scores less than 35% overall, and if you still join it, because you only have to do a BE/B. Tech, then live with the realization that it will be a hard grind in your life after teaching.
